Chomi Groman | The Walls of the Old City of Jerusalem at Night
The artist Chomi Groman focuses on depicting Israeli landscapes in oil and watercolor. Her paintings reflect her personal journey, from growing up in a Haredi community in Me’a She’arim to her experiences in the modern world. She paints in a realistic and modern style, focusing on current topics and depicting Israeli landscapes.
Chomi combines meticulous techniques that she learned from her classical studies with a free flow of paint, as an expression of her personal growth and the tension that exists between the secular and modern world. In her work, she explores everyday moments of Israeli life as well as traditional objects with symbolic value. Her art connects the traditional and the contemporary, allowing her to find a new connection to her roots from a new perspective.
